Delete your RecipeRun account

You can permanently delete your RecipeRun account and its associated data at any time. This page explains how to do it, what gets removed, and how to request deletion if you can't use the app.

Delete from inside the app

The fastest way is right inside RecipeRun:

  • Open Settings (the gear icon).
  • Scroll to Delete account.
  • Tap Delete account & data, then confirm Delete everything.

Your account is deleted right away and the app returns to a fresh, signed-out state. If you belong to a family group you're removed from it first; if you created the group, it's deleted for everyone in it. On iOS, this also revokes RecipeRun's Sign in with Apple token.

Request deletion by email

If you can't access the app — for example, you've changed phones — we'll delete your account for you:

  • Email support@reciperun.com.au from the email address linked to your account, with the subject Delete my account.
  • We'll verify the request and delete your account and associated data within 30 days (usually much sooner), then email you to confirm.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove:

  • Your recipes, weekly meal plans, and shopping lists
  • Your family group membership — and any group you created, for all of its members
  • Recipes you shared into a family group
  • All RecipeRun data stored on your device
  • Your sign-in account itself

What is not automatically removed

Some data lives in your own cloud storage, under your control, so deleting your RecipeRun account does not remove it:

  • Android — Google Drive backup. If you backed up to Google Drive, that backup stays in your own Drive. Revoke RecipeRun's access from your Google Account permissions page, and delete the backup file from your Drive if you want it gone.
  • iOS — iCloud sync. If iCloud sync is on, your synced copy stays in your own iCloud. Turn off iCloud sync in your iOS Settings and delete RecipeRun's data from your iCloud storage to remove it.

What may be retained

  • Purchase records. Your RecipeRun Pro subscription is billed by your app store — Google Play on Android or the App Store on iOS — not by us. Deleting your RecipeRun account does not cancel a subscription. Manage or cancel it in the Google Play Store, or on iOS in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Your app store may retain transaction records as required by law.
  • Limited records we are legally required to keep, and aggregated, anonymised data that is not linked to you.

For more detail on what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.
