WiseList Alternatives in Australia (2026)
WiseList compares Coles, Woolworths and ALDI and adds pantry and household tools. Three alternatives, compared on prices, shared lists, recipes and cost by the RecipeRun team.
Quick answer: WiseList is a strong all-rounder for Australian shoppers: free Coles, Woolworths and ALDI price comparison, with WiseList+ for the extras. People look for an alternative for different reasons, and these are the three we would point to:
- RecipeRun: if your list starts from recipes and a weekly plan, priced at your local Woolworths, Coles and ALDI.
- Pinch: if you want price history and Harris Farm, free.
- AnyList: if you want a polished shared list and don't need supermarket prices.
We make RecipeRun, so this is a comparison by one of the entrants, not an independent review. We checked WiseList's website and its Australian App Store listing on 3 November 2026. Prices and free limits change, so confirm before you pay.

What WiseList does well
WiseList prices every item on your list at Coles, Woolworths and ALDI as you add it, and that comparison is free. Its grocery-list page is upfront that each store's total includes only the items that store can price, so you check how many were priced before comparing totals. WiseList+ adds Split by Store, which sends each item to whichever store is cheaper and shows the saving, and cart transfer to a Coles or Woolworths online cart. In-aisle barcode Scan & Compare is listed as a WiseList+ feature on the App Store but ticked for the free version in its website's plan table, so check in the app.
It also reaches well beyond groceries: fridge, freezer and pantry tracking, receipt scanning, meal plans around your kitchen, this week's specials or a budget, and bill and subscription tracking. WiseList+ costs A$7.99 a month or A$49.99 a year on its site and the Australian App Store, and also unlocks unlimited meal plans and recipes, shared-list invitations and an ad-free app.
Who it suits: households who want Australian price comparison plus pantry and household admin in one app.
Why people look for an alternative
None of these is a flaw so much as a choice WiseList has made, but they are the usual reasons:
- Sharing. Its homepage and App Store listing say inviting people to a list needs WiseList+, and the people you invite join free. Its collaborative-list page says the core shared list is in the free version, so check in the app.
- Ads. Its App Store listing names "an ad-free app" among the WiseList+ extras.
- Recipes and planning limits. The free version includes one meal plan and three saved recipes.
RecipeRun: the list starts from your recipes
RecipeRun prices the same three supermarkets, but the list comes from a different place: the recipes you have saved and the week you have planned. Save recipes from websites, TikTok and YouTube links, photos, screenshots and handwritten cards, give each one a day, and the week's ingredients become one list. Choose your local Woolworths, Coles and ALDI by postcode and the list shows an estimated total at each store, the product behind every price and how many items each store couldn't match. Cheapest mode regroups the list by whichever store has the lowest price for each item, and the app remembers the brand or pack you usually buy.
Where WiseList is ahead: barcode scanning in the aisle, sending a list to an online cart, receipt scanning, fridge and pantry tracking, and the household bills tools.
Where RecipeRun differs: there are no ads, and a Family Group shares the recipes, plan and list live with your household.
The trade-offs, plainly. It is phone-only, on Android and iOS, with no web or desktop app, and prices are estimates that can lag the shelf.
Pinch: price history and Harris Farm
Pinch's website compares Coles, Woolworths, ALDI and Harris Farm, and its Australian App Store listing names Umall as well and describes up to 52 weeks of price history for every product, a price tracker, and shopping lists you can build from a search or a recipe and share. Its About page describes pasting a recipe or building a meal plan and seeing the ingredients priced side by side, with prices collected weekly. It says it is free on iOS and Android, with no account needed.
Pick it if: you want to check whether a special is really a saving, or you shop at Harris Farm. These are Pinch's own claims; we haven't audited its coverage or matching.
AnyList: a polished shared list, without supermarket prices
AnyList says creating and sharing lists is free on iOS and Android, with autocomplete and automatic grocery categories. Recipes are part of the free app; the meal-planning calendar, a list generated from the plan, prices you type in yourself, and the web and Mac apps come with AnyList Complete. The Australian App Store lists Complete at A$14.99 a year for one person or A$22.99 for a household.
Pick it if: a fast, free shared list matters more than knowing which supermarket is cheaper. We found nothing on its pages about Woolworths, Coles or ALDI prices. Our AnyList vs RecipeRun comparison sets the two side by side for Australian households.
